Am I really being called to ministry? Is Western right for me?
These are life-defining questions, and we’d like to help you answer them. As we hear how you sense God calling you to Christian leadership, we can discern together, asking for God’s clear leading and direction. In the meantime, there are a few questions you might ask yourself as you discern God’s call:
- Do I experience a deep internal longing to extend the peace and presence of God to those around me?
- Do others who lead in ministry invite me to serve with them and identify or affirm my gifts for ministry in some other way?
- Do I naturally wonder and think about how God might want me or others to respond in light of the gospel?
If you answered ‘yes’ to each of these, it’s time to learn how seminary might help you prepare for vocational ministry leadership.
Why Western Theological Seminary?
Western is an excellent place to prepare for a lifetime of ministry leadership that changes lives, promotes justice, and inspires the church. Western Theological Seminary seeks women and men who are committed to following Christ in leadership through rigorous academic scholarship and compassionate pastoral practice.
From the very first day in class, you will ponder questions like: what does it mean to follow Christ? What does it mean to lead? How does following Christ look different in the world and how do I communicate this to my neighbors?
Western Theological Seminary wants to equip you for a lifetime of influence. We welcome the opportunity to meet you and hear the story of your calling.
