Community in Distance Learning
It’s easy to get to know people in our distance learning program. Students form deep relationships through online discussions for classes and meet each other face-to-face during on-campus intensives held in October and February. Lifelong friendships start at Western.

The housing options at Western foster the community we value: on-campus townhouses that cater to families with children, and apartments and rental homes within walking distance of campus. We also offer students a unique opportunity to live alongside young adults with cognitive disabilities in the Friendship House.

Culture of Inclusion
Western is committed to working toward racial-ethnic diversity in our community. Students can join our Diversity Committee, which creates a culture of racial-ethnic hospitality through a variety of discussions and events. Our Faculty Fellow program for racial-ethnic students completing their Ph.D. dissertation is part of Western’s strategy to prepare students to be leaders of diverse congregations.
Student Services
Our Student Assistance Program (SAP) provides access to individual counseling, spiritual direction, and formative workshops. We also offer a seminary-sponsored medical insurance program and job placement assistance.
